Ohio Sigma is proud to celebrate the first Tragos Quest to Greece Scholar in the history of the Case Western Reserve University SigEp chapter!
The Tragos Quest to Greece is intended to change the way brothers view the world, their Fraternity and themselves. Guided by alumni mentors and university faculty, Tragos Quest to Greece Scholars study the influence that Greek philosophy, governance and the arts has and continues to have in everyday life. Brothers explore Greek culture and reflect upon the origins of SigEp’s values and the Balanced Man ideal.
The program includes visits to ancient historical sites such as Athens, Delphi, Nauplion, Corinth, Mycenae and Olympia. Brothers explore the foundations of the fraternal world, experience SigEp’s ritual in a new light and study the philosophies of Socrates and Aristotle while walking the same streets where those great minds taught.
About Our Scholar
Jose, a 2022 Ruck scholar, has actively contributed to his chapter by serving as president, VP of Membership Development, and Balanced Man Scholarship chair. Recently, he dedicated time to personalize the Balanced Man Program for each brother in his chapter, aligning it with their individual interests and goals, while ensuring it remains consistent with the fraternity’s ideals. This tailored approach aims to enhance every brother’s SigEp experience.
Despite maintaining an impressive 4.0 GPA as a psychology major, Jose has actively pursued real-world experience as a research assistant in a hospital. His research focuses on studying effective methods to support patients’ families in coping with stress, anxiety, and depression. Additionally, Jose regularly indulges his passion for rock climbing and works as a rock wall attendant at the university athletic center.
