After graduating from Case Western Reserve University, Yair transitioned to Emory University in Atlanta, GA where he continued his studies. He was engaged in a 9-year program where he earned both an M.D. and a Ph.D in Neuroscience, graduating in 2011. During this period, Yair further developed his love of the neurosciences, and elected to pursue residency training in Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. After graduating in 2017, he obtained further specialized training in skull base and open cerebrovascular neurosurgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT. At the completion of his training, Yair elected to return to Cincinnati, his wife’s hometown, where he works as a neurosurgeon for the Mayfield Clinic. He specializes in complex cranial surgery, brain tumor surgery, and minimally invasive spine surgery.
Outside of work, Yair enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa (CWRU ’03), and their four children. Their life is a whirlwind of swim meets, lacrosse games, and soccer matches punctuated by hiking trips to various national parks during school breaks.
